Samahan: Magkasama sa Pagkakaiba is an activity book that aims to build empathy for the Deaf in an elementary school setting through storytelling and group activities. It also features a short story written by Alvy Alviar entitled, The Great Signer: Ang Kakayahan at Paglalakbay ni Angela.
Since Samahan acts as a guide for learning Filipino Sign Language, I designed simple illustrations for the clarity of the gestures and signs. Its colorful and inviting color palette pertains to inclusivity — having a community wherein everyone can express themselves and be understood.
This project was my undergraduate senior thesis for the completion of my BFA Information Design degree in Ateneo de Manila University.
